Alton Baker and Amazon

Alton Baker can work well when you want both off-leash time and a longer walk. Use the designated enclosure for off-leash activity, then put the leash back on before returning to the park's paths. The Alton Baker Park guide explains the wider park layout.

Amazon Park has a general dog area and a smaller enclosure designated for dogs weighing 25 pounds or less. Check the posted signs before choosing a gate, and review park notices if nearby construction could affect access.

Candlelight, Washington Jefferson, and Wayne Morse

Candlelight offers size-separated areas according to the city directory. Washington Jefferson provides another fenced option in central Eugene. Check each park's location and current notices rather than choosing only from a name on a map.

At Wayne Morse Family Farm, the city directs visitors east from the main parking lot along the gravel path to the dog enclosure. Dogs must remain leashed in the other parts of the park. Arrive prepared to walk from the parking area instead of expecting the enclosure to be directly beside every entrance.

Armitage and Lively are nearby alternatives

Armitage Park is a Lane County facility beside the McKenzie River. Its dog park has large- and small-dog areas. A county day-use or annual parking pass is required, so include that in your plan and check current fees with the county.

Lively Park is in Springfield's Thurston area. Willamalane lists a four-acre dog park with separate areas for large and small dogs. Use its current park information for access and notices.

These are useful alternatives when their locations fit your trip. Neither should be presented as a City of Eugene facility.

Before entering an off-leash area

Keep your dog leashed between the car and the designated enclosure. Close gates securely, stay with your dog, carry waste bags, and clean up after each visit. Follow posted rules about behavior and remove your dog if interactions become unsafe.

Space and activity can change throughout the day. If the enclosure is busy or your dog is uncomfortable, choose a leashed walk or return another time. A dog park does not need to be part of every outing.

After rain, expect the possibility of mud and wet surfaces. Bring water and a towel as needed. Do not rely on a fountain or other amenity being available without checking the park's current information.
