- How the building or property controls access.
- Where you would park and store bicycles or other belongings.
- Whether traffic, noise, and activity fit your expectations at the times you would normally be there.

Those differences are reasons to investigate the address, not grounds for assigning an entire neighborhood a safety label.
For a downtown address, check the scope and reporting period of any downtown statistics before comparing them with citywide numbers. For campus-related questions, review University of Oregon Police crime-prevention resources and the university's current safety information.
If you are also considering Springfield, use information from that city's police department for Springfield locations. Eugene citywide data does not describe every address in the broader metro area.
Comparing Eugene with another city
